Lollipop bouquets make great bachelorette party decorations. They also are a great way to make money with “suck for a buck.” My friend sold lollipops from the bouquet for $1 each and made over $70!
Foam ball (find this in the floral department of your local craft store)
Several bags of dum dums or other small lollipops
Four 12-inch wooden dowels (or seven 6-inch dowels)
Tape measure or ruler (if using 12-inch dowels)
Hand saw (if using 12-inch dowels)
Green paint/paint brush
Start by pushing one row of dum dums into the foam ball.
You won’t need to glue dum dums at this stage.
Add a second row of dum dums to the foam ball.
Continue to add rows of dum dums to the foam ball until it looks kinda like a mushroom top.
You will need seven 6-inch wooden dowels. I found 12-inch dowels and cut them in half. Measure your 12-inch dowels and mark the halfway point.
Cut sticks in half using a hand saw.
Paint 7 of the sticks green. They will mostly be covered with ribbon, so you don’t have to worry too much about smudges.
This is what they will look like when they are arranged together.
Add some hot glue to the end of the ribbon and stick in place.
Wrap tightly around the wooden dowels.
Glue ribbon in place with hot glue.
Use your unpainted dowel to make a hole in the foam ball for the wooden dowels.
Push them in several inches, far enough to support the weight of the bouquet.
Add lots of hot glue to the bottom of the hole.
Press firmly in place and hold until glue hardens.
Now add rows of dum dums to the bottom of the bouquet. You will have to glue these in or they will fall out. Add a dab of hot glue to the stick and press into the foam ball and it will stay in place.
When you get really close to the bouquet handle you will have to trim down the dum dum sticks to fit. Cut with a pair of sharp scissors and then glue and stick into foam ball.
