Perfect Poached Eggs

I don’t often use the microwave to cook food, but I do to make the perfect poached eggs!  Why the microwave?  Well, it’s timed so you don’t accidentally over or under cook them.  Also, you aren’t boiling the eggs with the water, so the whites turn out beautifully.  With my microwave method your poached eggs aren’t ruined by the taste of vinegar.  I recommend buying the best eggs that you can fit into your budget.  I use organic, cage-free brown eggs.  Delicious!

Ingredients:

Eggs
Boiling water
Salt and pepper to taste

Add eggs to a large bowl.

Add boiling water to the bowl.  Pour the water on the edge of the bowl as to not disturb the egg whites.

Cook in the microwave for 1 minutes and 35 seconds.  It took me awhile to find the perfect time, so you may need more or less time depending on the size of your eggs and your microwave.

Check the firmness of your yolks to see if you need more time.

Use a slotted spoon to move eggs to another bowl or plate.

Add salt & pepper to eggs and enjoy!
